PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Four people have pleaded guilty in a Rhode Island district court for fraud.
Prosecutors say 54-year-old Ronald Long, and 48-year-old Cheryl Melton Long pleaded guilty Friday on fraud conspiracy charges.
The cases originated as a fraud investigation related to billing by companies controlled by the Longs, which were vendors to the United States Postal Service by providing repair work to postal vehicles. By dollar amount, the Longs’ businesses were the largest non-fuel vendor of the Postal Service statewide between 2006 and 2014.
