SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Five Utah State Prison inmates have been charged with stabbing another prisoner.

KSL-TV reports the men were charged Wednesday with felony counts of aggravated assault, possessing a prohibited item in the prison and obstruction of justice.

Authorities say the five men are documented gang members and they could face additional penalties because the stabbing was allegedly related to gang activity.
