President Trump blasted Rep. Maxine Waters and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi Wednesday, the morning after three primary upsets meant losses for the Democratic establishment.

Mr. Trump accused the two California congresswoman of weakening the country.

Mrs. Pelosi and Ms. Waters have both been involved in politics since the 1980s.

However, Tuesday night’s elections shook up the Democratic Party.

Three Democratic primaries in New York, Maryland and Colorado resulted in more progressive wins for the party over more establishment candidates. Ben Jealous took the Democrat slot in Maryland’s gubernatorial race, and Rep. Jared Polis won the nomination in Colorado.

The biggest upset of the night was in New York, as newcomer Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defeated Rep. Joseph Crowley. Mr. Crowley was in line for party leadership prior to his defeat Tuesday.
