Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency Monday for the Lake Country in California as fires that started on Saturday continue to rage on.
The Pawnee Fire has consumed over 8,000 acres of land, threatening at least 600 homes, roads, and other structures. The entire Spring Valley area has been ordered to evacuate.
“The fire is being driven by low relative humidity, erratic winds, and above normal temperatures,” an incident fact sheet read.
None of the blaze is contained yet. The cause is still under investigation.
