RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Officials in North Carolina say a prison supervisor is in stable condition after he was attacked by two inmates.
Public Safety Department spokesman Jerry Higgins said in a news release Wednesday that Central Prison Unit Manager Brent Soucier (Soo-sher) was attacked Tuesday afternoon. Soucier had worked for the prison system for 19 years.
Higgins said one of the two suspects in the attack has returned to the prison after medical treatment. Jaquan Lane had been serving a seven-year sentence for robbery.
