SMITHFIELD, Utah (AP) - Police say two northern Utah boys have been released from a hospital after being burned when a neighbor threw a liquid on them.
Smithfield Police Chief Travis Allen said Monday a 3-year-old child who had burns on his face, neck and chest has been released from a hospital. A 5-year-old boy burned on his back in the Friday attack was released from the hospital Friday.
The Deseret News reports the boys were injured when 32-year-old Smithfield resident Jason Keith Summers walked onto his neighbor’s property and threw a substance similar to drain cleaner on the boys. Police have not determined what the liquid was and have sent it to the Utah State Crime Lab for testing.
