CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A Wyoming man sentenced to 37 years in prison for torching the Sheridan County Attorney’s Office four years ago has lost an attempt to have his sentence vacated or changed.

Joel Elliott, of Sheridan, was convicted in 2015 of firebombing a public building in June 2014. No one was hurt in the incident but it caused about $900,000 in damage.

KTWO-AM in Casper reports that after the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals denied his appeal, Elliott filed a motion to vacate or correct the sentence, contending his attorneys were ineffective.
