Allie Beth Stuckey and CRTV are facing criticism Tuesday over a satirical interview with rising Democratic Socialist star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Ms. Stuckey and CRTV released a parody interview with the Democratic nominee from the Bronx Monday night. The nearly 2½-minute video strings together clips from Ms. Ocasio-Cortez’s viral interview with Margret Hoover on PBS’ “Firing Line.”
The video cuts back and forth between the footage from PBS and separately recorded video of Ms. Stuckey. Ms. Ocasio-Cortez’s answers from “Firing Line” were rearranged to match questions and comments posed by Ms. Stuckey.
.@conservmillen grills congressional hopeful and progressive “it girl” @Ocasio2018 on her socialist agenda and knowledge of government… or lack thereof.

Critics are pointing out that the original tweet from CRTV did not specifically note that the interview was a satire or parody, aside from including a winking emoji.
Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, who also got into a tiff with Republican Rep. Ron DeSantis of Florida, responded to the video on Twitter. She accused her rival party of “faking videos and presenting them as real on Facebook because they can’t deal with reality anymore.”
Republicans are so scared of me that they’re faking videos and presenting them as real on Facebook because they can’t deal with reality anymore.

Here’s one bonafide truth:
Election Day is November 6th. https://t.co/Z7MfisgiWl
However, on a Facebook page for CRTV the video description includes a specific update noting the video is a satire.
