PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A jury in Rhode Island court has found a man to be guilty for a 2007 murder.
The state’s Attorney General Peter Kilmartin says on Friday, the Providence County Superior Court found 28-year-old Ezekial Johnson of Pawtucket guilty of the July 2007 murder of Jose Rodriguez.
Johnson and two other individuals were in the backseat of Rodriguez’s taxi when Johnson pulled out a gun and shot him in the back of the head, killing him. Prosecutors believe the three men did not want to pay for the taxi ride.

The case remained unsolved for several years until a witness came forward, and police were able to link DNA left near the scene to Johnson. He was indicted in 2017 and is held without bail pending sentencing.
