Will Antonio Brown be the latest athlete impacted by the Madden cover curse?
We’ll find out this upcoming season. EA Sports announced Wednesday the Pittsburgh Steelers wideout will grace the cover of the video game Madden 19.

Brown, 30 has been one of the league’s top — if not the best — wide receivers over the past few seasons. In 2017, he finished with 101 receptions for 1,533 yards and nine touchdowns in 14 games.
“The Madden Curse” is a long-running theory that whoever is on the cover is doomed to have a poor season or get injured.
Tom Brady (2018), Rob Gronkowski (2017), Odell Beckham Jr. (2016), Richard Sherman (2015) and Adrian Peterson (2014) are the last five athletes to appear on the cover of Madden.
Of those five, Gronkowski and Peterson had the worst seasons: with Gronkowski missing half the season with injuries, while Peterson missed two games while the Vikings went 5-10-1. Brady and Sherman, however, each came up short in the Super Bowl — losing in painful fashion.
