Move over JFK theorists and Flat Earth truthers, we have a new conspiracy making the rounds on the internet.
Bryce Harper cheated. Or his dad cheated. Or they were both in on it!
Angry Kyle Schwarber fans took to Twitter to accuse the Nationals star of foul play during his dramatic rally to win the Home Run Derby on Monday.
The committed sin? Ron Harper, Bryce’s dad, wasn’t waiting for the ball to land before throwing another pitch — which technically was against the rules. If this rule was followed, Harper likely wouldn’t have caught Schwarber’s mark of 18 home runs in time, since he was down 18-9 with 90 seconds left.
So what did these fans do to voice their complaints? Naturally, they did what most angry people do on the internet. They created a hashtag: #Justice4Schwarber.
So r we just ignoring the fact the Bryce Harper & his dad cheated & did not follow the rules of the #HomeRunDerby ? The previous hit ball must hit the ground before the next ball can be thrown to the batter. Harper needs 4 Home Runs taken away, video evidence. #Justice4Schwarber pic.twitter.com/u0B5FPAlfV

It is time to drain the swamp in Washington. You have a President that is buddies with the Russians and Washington’s Harper & his dad cheat to win the Home Run Derby. #Justice4Schwarber

At least we can all agree that as cool as the ending was of the #HRDerby, Bryce Harper and his dad cheated the shit out of the contest. The previous balls hadn’t even come close to landing and dude was still firing pitches like an automatic pitching machine.

I have a hunch that all will be forgiven by those fans if Harper signs with the Cubs in the offseason.
