CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A legislative committee has unanimously rejected a proposal to change the state’s education funding model.
The Select Committee on School Finance Recalibration on Tuesday voted down the recommendations made by consultants who were paid about $800,000 to examine a state education system that is facing a significant funding shortfall.
The consultant’s recommended funding model would have cost $71 million more than what the state currently provides for its K-12 system.
