The official NHL ice plant for the 2018 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series arrived in Annapolis on Tuesday ahead of the Washington Capitals’ outdoor game against the Toronto Maple Leafs March 3.

The Capitals and Maple Leafs will play outdoors at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, home of the U.S. Naval Academy football team.

Among those at the arrival of the ice plant were Capitals alumni Peter Bondra, Rod Langway and Craig Laughlin; NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly; Annapolis mayor Gavin Buckley; and Naval Academy Superintendent, Vice Admiral Walter E. Carter.

It takes 20,000 gallons of water to create a two-inch-thick ice hockey surface, according to a media release.
