CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A Casper woman has acknowledged failing to pay restitution after lying about her son’s health in order to collect thousands of dollars in donations.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports 35-year-old Krishelle Layton appeared in District Court Friday where she also acknowledged absconding from probation under her 2015 sentence for obtaining property under false pretenses. She had said her son had an untreatable brain tumor, but medical records indicated her son underwent treatment for a growth in his brain that was resolved by 2014.

Her attorney, Kurt Infanger, asked for additional time to collect medical records for Judge Thomas Sullins to consider before sentencing. Layton was returned to jail without bond.
