SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Eight Democratic lawmakers will take their oaths of office Monday to represent California legislative districts previously held by Republicans. It’s part of a wave that will give Democrats 29 of the 40 Senate seats and 60 of the 80 Assembly seats.
The eight Democrats are among 17 freshmen legislators, though several incoming senators previously served in the Assembly.
