After choosing not to play Friday night’s game against the Washington Mystics, the Las Vegas Aces officially forfeited the game Tuesday, the WNBA announced.
The Aces experienced numerous travel delays trying to get to the East Coast and landed in Washington just hours before the game was scheduled to be played.
Originally, the game was postponed an hour to try to accommodate the Aces, but then the Las Vegas team decided it would not be in their best interest to try to play on no rest.
It will count in the win column for the Mystics. After gaining the forfeit win and beating the Phoenix Mercury 103-98 later Tuesday night, the Mystics improved to 18-11, third in the WNBA standings and second in the Eastern Conference, a game behind the Atlanta Dream.
