Who needs a bat boy when you can train a dog to do the same job? Well, maybe this is why.

Like some minor league teams, the Single-A Greensboro Grasshoppers employ a dog — theirs is named “Miss Lou Lou Gehrig” — to retrieve players’ bats after at-bats.

This Grasshoppers batter set his bat down in the middle of an at-bat for an unknown reason, triggering Miss Lou Lou Gehrig to come fetch it.

That was one committed dog, especially in the way that it decided to come back for one more try.
