FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) - The Fort Smith Police Department says they are searching for a man suspected of stealing police equipment, including two guns, and a police badge from an officer’s personal vehicle.
Authorities said Thursday that a handgun, a semi-automatic rifle, a tactical bag with at least one magazine and a badge were stolen.
The items were taken on Aug. 17 when the officer’s pickup truck was parked in a hotel parking lot near the police station. Police say a man who may have been wearing a red jacket and been in a white car was observed checking car door handles.
