To explain the basics of trade, HBO comedian John Oliver roasted Wizards center Dwight Howard in the process.

On “Last Week Tonight,” Oliver went right for Howard’s neck.

“Our main story tonight concerns trade, the basic system of barter and exchange that you have to do really carefully, or you’ll end up with Dwight Howard,” Oliver said. “Seriously parents, talk to your children about trade. You don’t want them to go to school with pizza Lunchables and come home with Dwight Howard.”

The Wizards are the latest team to end up with the three-time All-Star. While Washington didn’t trade for Howard, they did sign him after the Brooklyn Nets bought the 32-year-old out.

How did the Nets acquire him? You guessed it — by trade.

Howard has been traded three times in his career and will have been with five teams in four seasons,  if you count his short stay with the Nets.

“You think he’s going to add a three-point shot to his game now kid?” Oliver said. “Grow up.”
