KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A former corrections officer has admitted smuggling contraband to inmates at the Jackson County Detention Center.
Federal prosecutors say 26-year-old Andre Lamonte Dickerson, of Kansas City, pleaded guilty Wednesday to two charges related to smuggling cell phones and other contraband into the jail.
Dickerson admitted that he told a confidential informant he would smuggle two packs of cigarettes, a cell phone and a cell phone charger to an inmate for $500. Other evidence included information on a cell phone about drug deals between Dickerson and inmates.
