MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Mesa police say an armed man shot by officers responding to a domestic violence call has died of his injuries.
Police identify the man who was shot Wednesday as 67-year-old Michael Ferrell.
Police previously said a woman reported that a man was trying to kill her and that he had a weapon.
Police also said officers found the man in the backyard of the home with a gun in his waistband and that he didn’t comply with commands to get rid of the gun.
According to police, the shooting occurred when officers perceived a threat.
