Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward will likely miss the entire season after undergoing surgery to repair his dislocated left ankle and his fractured tibia, ESPN reported.

The news doesn’t come as a surprise, but the Celtics were waiting for Hayward to have surgery before entirely ruling him out. His agent Mark Bartelstein told ESPN Hayward is unlikely to return during the season.

On Tuesday, Hayward suffered a horrific ankle injury just six minutes into Boston’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The forward signed a four-year, $128 million contract with the Celtics over the summer.
