WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A former worker at a Delaware oil recycling company has been sentenced to a year of probation for violating federal environmental laws.

Forty-six-year-old John Lowery III was sentenced last week after pleading guilty to tampering with a monitoring method required by the Clean Water Act.

Lowery’s sentencing came two weeks after a judge ordered a former manager at International Petroleum Corp., 52-year-old Lance Charen, to spend a year and a day in prison. Charen pleaded guilty to transporting hazardous waste without a manifest and tampering with a monitoring method required by the Clean Water Act.
