OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Two Oakland gang members have been sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing a 66-year-old woman who had been following and filming them with her phone.
The East Bay Times reports (https://bayareane.ws/2qKruz5 ) the two men were sentenced Friday for the 2013 killing of Judy Salamon.
The men are 25-year-old Stephon Lee and 24-year-old Mario Floyd. They had been convicted by a jury in September 2016 of first-degree murder in the course of a robbery.
The sentencing had been delayed so the court could vet an allegation of potential juror misconduct.
Police believe Salamon had filmed Lee and Floyd committing a crime.
Lee fatally shot her after she had a confrontation with Floyd. Police believe Floyd then took her phone after Lee shot her.
