NEW YORK (AP) - An off-duty New York Police Department officer hosting a family party was slashed in the arm by a stranger who tried to enter the home.
Authorities said the party on Saturday was for the officer’s daughter’s first communion, WINS Radio reported (https://cbsloc.al/2p9SEj4 ) Around 9:30 p.m., a stranger tried to come in, and confronted the officer’s wife.
The 43-year-old officer and the 19-year-old man got into a fight, police said, and the officer was slashed. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The other man was also hospitalized and was in police custody.
