GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - A man who sparked a plot to steal marijuana from a western Colorado RV and re-sell it out of state has been sentenced to three years in prison.
The Grand Junction Sentinel reports that Jacob Hoard pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery.
Prosecutors said that Hoard told a father and son that they could buy marijuana from the RV owner. Hoard told Charles and Trevaun Faison they could buy the pot for $1,600 a pound and resell it on the East Coast for $35,000 a pound.
Instead, the Faisons allegedly attempted to rob the RV last October. Hoard wasn’t there.
The robbery turned bloody when the RV owner and his two sons were shot. All three survived.
The Faisons are awaiting trial on charges including attempted first-degree murder.
