BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a Bennington man who was pulled out of a river.

Police say 20-year-old Nickolas Seamans was found seemingly unconscious on Wednesday morning in the Walloomsac River.

The river is located behind an apartment building in Bennington. Seamans’ lower torso was submerged.



Rescuers removed Seamans, who was still breathing, and rushed him to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Police say the body has been taken to the state medical examiner’s office to determine how he died.

Anyone with information is asked to come forward.
