SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a 53-year-old man was found dead at the county’s Main Jail.
The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/2mF30Vo ) that a 53-year-old man was pronounced dead Wednesday after he was found with a piece of clothing around his neck.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, was booked into jail Tuesday for violating the terms of his parole.

A sheriff’s deputy found the man while performing a check of his holding cell early Wednesday. Jail medical staff attempted life-saving measures on the man, as did paramedics. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
