BALTIMORE (AP) - Fire officials confirmed that a fourth person has died after a fire tore through an assisted living facility last week.

The fire broke out at roughly 2 a.m. on March 3 at the Kozy Kottage care home in Northwest Baltimore. Six of the seven occupants of the home were taken to a hospital where two died hours later and four others remained in critical condition. Fire Chief Niles Ford said a third person died the day after the fire and a fourth died on Wednesday.

Officials say the cause of the blaze is still under investigation. Inspectors recently found problems in the home during routine checks that included insufficient fire safety and disaster training for staff members.
