GILBERT, Ariz. (AP) - Gilbert police say an officer has been placed on restricted duty while they investigate an incident in which witnesses said the officer hit a 24-year-old woman in the face while she was being arrested.

Rickeda Jobe told KSAZ-TV (https://goo.gl/DcPr4K ) that she had bitten the officer on the hand while resisting arrest Monday but didn’t deserve to be roughed up.

The Police Department said in a statement that it is conducting an administrative investigation of the incident.



Jobe was being arrested for violation of a court order when the incident. She also was arrested Monday on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

According to police, Jobe also kicked another officer.

A video posted by witnesses doesn’t show the alleged punch.
