LYNN, Mass. (AP) - A Lynn man charged in the stabbing death of a 20-year-old Boston man has been ordered held without bail after pleading not guilty to murder.
The Daily Item reports (https://bit.ly/2oCk64e ) that 20-year-old Tomas Barillas was arraigned Wednesday in connection with the killing of Jason Arias-Amador on March 23.
Just after midnight on that date police responded to the area of Baker and Franklin streets in Lynn following reports of a man with a possible stab wound. There officers found a blood-soaked Arias-Amador leaning against a taxi.
Unable to communicate, Arias-Amador collapsed and later died.
A cellphone message sent by Arias-Amador led the Lynn Police Gang Unit to identify Barillas as a person of interest due to his reported gang ties.
The suspect’s court-appointed attorney refused comment.
