TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - An Arizona State University student from China faces deportation to his home country for taking videos and photographs of women in bathroom stalls on the university’s Tempe campus.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Yasmeen Pitts O’Keefe told KTVK-TV (https://goo.gl/Y7TAZd ) that a federal judge ruled that 22-year-old Xiaoyuan Zhang no longer has a legal basis to be in the United States.

Court records indicate Zhang pleaded guilty in January to voyeurism charges after being arrested last September.

Police said after Zhang’s arrest that he was taken to a police station, was interviewed by an officer ho speaks Mandarin and consented to a search of his cellphone.

According to police, officers found photos or videos of six women.

Zhang is being held at an ICE facility pending deportation.
