CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Nevada Department of Corrections says a male inmate has died inside in a northern Nevada correctional facility.
Northern Nevada Correctional Center officials say 84-year-old Homer Burton died Tuesday in their Carson City center. Burton’s sentence was between 60 months to life in prison with possibility for parole for a 1995 sexual assault conviction.
Corrections officials say they were unable to find any next of kin for Burton.
The department did not release any possible cause of death. An autopsy is being scheduled.
