PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Authorities have identified a woman who was struck and killed by a train in Pascagoula as 43-year-old Miesha Kuantan.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2n5opaD ) that Kuantan was walking on the railroad tracks when she was struck Thursday afternoon at a railroad crossing on 14th Street.

Jackson County Coroner Vicki Broadus says that witnesses reported the engineer sounded the horn at least three times, but the woman never tried to get out of the way.



Broadus released the woman’s name after family members were located and notified.

The Sun Herald reports that it was unclear where Kuantan lived.
