RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - A Rutland mother and her boyfriend are facing charges after authorities say the duo exposed a 4-month-old infant to repeated injuries.
WCAX-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2lX5w8Y ) court documents indicate the child’s baby sitter noticed bruising on the child’s face and body and reported finding a needle in his diaper bag. She called the state Department for Children and Families multiple times in June and July.
Medical examinations determined the boy had suffered two broken ribs and two broken legs, as well as serious head trauma from being shaken.
Amanda Bartlett and her boyfriend Corey Yantz were arrested last month on charges of abandonment or exposure of a child under 2. Yantz has also been charged with domestic assault.
Both have pleaded not guilty.
