TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Arizona officials say a woman has been taken to the hospital after suffering a medical emergency while hiking near Tucson.
Northwest Fire District Capt. Brian Keeley says someone called 911 Saturday morning to report the emergency near Sombrero Peak in Sanctuary Cove. Keeley says members of the department’s Technical Rescue Team hiked out to the woman and began treating her before carrying her down the trail on a stretcher.
She was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
