SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - A woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for stabbing and killing her live-in boyfriend.
The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg reports (https://bit.ly/2lWs1MI) 27-year-old Lindsey Elizabeth Wilson took an Alford plea for voluntary manslaughter in the killing of 37-year-old Shannon Eugene Revels in 2015. An Alford Plea doesn’t admit guilt but recognizes the likelihood of a jury’s conviction based on the evidence in a case.
Wilson was sentenced Monday.
On Oct. 5, 2015, investigators responded to Wilson and Revels’ Cowpens home and found Revels lying in a doorway with a knife in his stomach. Revels was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery, but didn’t survive.
Revels initially told a dispatcher that he accidentally fell on a knife. Wilson initially told authorities that she pushed Revels and he fell onto a knife as an indirect result.
