CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Chandler say an arrest has been made in a homicide case in which an 84-year-old man was found fatally stabbed in his car.
They say 24-year-old Freddis Williams III has been booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.
Bond was set at $200,000 at Williams’ initial court appearance Wednesday. He doesn’t have an attorney yet.
Police say Shivaswamy Hosakote was found dead outside an LA Fitness health club in Chandler last Aug. 18.
They say Hosakote suffered multiple stab wounds and may have been robbed.
Investigators say Williams’ fingerprints and DNA were found inside Hosakote’s car through forensic tests.
Court documents show Williams told police he was having money problems and was unemployed.
Search warrants were later served on his Chandler home, vehicle and cell phone.
