CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - Police in Missouri’s St. Louis County are searching for a jailed man they say escaped while being treated at a hospital for allegedly swallowing a battery.
Police say 36-year-old Bruce Brutsman bolted from a corrections officer Saturday morning who was assigned to monitor him at the hospital and later stole a pizza delivery driver’s car.
Brutsman was jailed on charges of burglary and other property crimes.
