WINSLOW, Ariz. (AP) - Police say a Winslow man was booked on suspicion of murder in the death of a 3-year-old girl who suffered blunt force trauma to her head and body.
Winslow police say 18-year-old Sonny Wyatt Silas wasn’t related to the child and instead was the live-in boyfriend of the child’s cousin.
Authorities received a call Tuesday morning about the girl not breathing and being unresponsive.
Medical crews took efforts to save her life, but the girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the autopsy showed she died from trauma to her head and body.
It’s unclear whether Silas has yet been assigned an attorney.
