ROSELLE, N.J. (AP) - Prosecutors say a shooting that left two people dead at a New Jersey home was a murder-suicide.

The bodies of 49-year-old Dominick Richards, of Roselle, and 22-year-old Anishalee Cortes, of Newark, were found around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Richards’ home. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Union County prosecutors said Wednesday that Richards approached Cortes in the driveway and fatally shot her before taking his own life. But they didn’t say what may have sparked the shooting or released further details about the victims, citing the ongoing investigation.

A handgun was recovered from the scene.
