MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A Montgomery man faces charges of murder and first-degree assault for his role in a crash that resulted in one death and one life-threatening injury.
The crash occurred about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. Montgomery Police have arrested 28-year-old Stanley Wilson and transported him to the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where he’s being held under bonds totaling $80,000. Police did not know if he’s represented by an attorney.
Authorities say Wilson was fleeing a state trooper who had tried to stop him for excessive speed. He apparently ran a red light and hit another car whose passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second car is being treated at an area hospital for life-threatening injuries.
Wilson sustained minor injuries in the wreck.
