ALBIA, Iowa (AP) - A southern Iowa teacher accused of having sex with a student has pleaded not guilty.
Court records show 29-year-old Zachary Simpson entered the plea Friday to sexual exploitation by a school employee. The records don’t show that a trial has been scheduled.
Court records say a 16-year-old girl reported that she and Simpson had sex at least twice. Simpson was a teacher for the Albia Community School District who also taught driver’s education. The school board accepted his resignation July 17.
