NEW YORK (AP) - A yellow cab has struck and killed an 87-year-old man who was crossing a Manhattan street.
The NYPD said on Monday that the victim was walking at about 9 p.m. Sunday near Cooper Square at East Fifth Street in the East Village when he was hit by the cab. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police said the fatality was under investigation. The driver wasn’t immediately charged.
The name was the victim was withheld pending family notification.
