CENTRALIA, Wash. (AP) - An 80-year-old man is dead after a semi-truck smashed into his car while parked on the side Interstate 5.

KOMO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2uC8m4P ) that the crash happened just before midnight Sunday.

The man, later identified as Edward Chambers of Beaverton, Oregon, was declared dead at the scene.

The Washington State Patrol says Chambers had pulled to the shoulder of the road because the car was overheating.

The semi-truck driver, a 36-year-old Yelm man, was arrested on investigation of vehicular homicide. Troopers suspect drugs or alcohol were involved.

A 19-year-old passenger of the car was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
