PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) - More than $1 million has been set aside to remove trees near a New Hampshire airport and put warning lights on tall trees that won’t be cut down.
Airport manager Paul Breen tells the Portsmouth Herald (https://bit.ly/2twCKBp ) that an unknown number of trees will be cut down near the Portsmouth International Airport in Newington because they could become obstructions.
Most of the money comes from a federal grant.
Breen said it’s a significant project and part of an eight-year plan.
The work is expected to start in the early fall.
