WINDSOR, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina volunteer fire department has gotten a new truck that fights brush fires, which the chief says account for 80 percent of the fires in the community.

Fire Chief Ricky Mundy of the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department tells the Aiken Standard that the department has a custom-built Bulldog 4X4 Brush Truck. He says it’s the only of its kind in the Southeast.

Mundy says the truck has a 2,000-gallon tank on the back, with a 100-foot hose and a remote control monitor that allows firefighters to just push a button to start spraying the water.

He says it replaces a previous brush truck that was built in the 1980s.
