Minot man gets 2-year sentence for assaulting officers

MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A Minot man who assaulted two police officers will serve two years in prison.

The Minot Daily News reports https://bit.ly/2t7NmGR that 23-year-old Adriel Lewis was sentenced this week after pleading guilty to assault, resisting arrest and drug possession.

Authorities say Lewis tried to flee in June when officers attempted to arrest him for a probation violation. Officers subdued him with stun guns but not before he assaulted two of the officers. One suffered minor injuries.
