NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a Newark police officer shot a suspect.
The shooting took place just before 1:30 a.m. Friday on South 11th Street.
The suspect was driven in a private vehicle to University Hospital, where he is in stable condition. His name has not been released.
No members of law enforcement were injured.
No charges have been filed.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating.
