PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say Daisy Mountain firefighter is dead after an off-duty fight at a Phoenix nightclub.
Phoenix police say the case is being investigated as a homicide.
The Daisy Mountain Fire Department announced the death of 37-year-old Luke Jones in a statement Sunday.
They say the 12-year veteran of department was involved in an altercation Saturday night and was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Phoenix police say the victim had critical injuries consistent with an assault.
They are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
Fire department officials say Jones leaves behind a wife and a daughter.
The department covers an area north of Phoenix near the Carefree Highway.
